Some users who created their LanguageTool account using the Google login option may run into issues when trying to log in to the Microsoft Word add-in. In these cases, the login may fail, and an error message will appear.
How to fix it
First, make sure you're logged out of your LanguageTool account in your browser.
Go to the password reset page: https://languagetool.org/password/reset
Enter the same email address associated with your Google login and create a new password.
After resetting your password, open Microsoft Word and log in to the add-in using your email address and new password (instead of using the Google login).
This workaround will let you access the Word add-in even if your account was originally created with Google.
