The LanguageTool Word add-in icon doesn’t show up after installation

If the LanguageTool add-in icon doesn’t appear in the Home tab after installation, or if it disappears every time you restart Word, this might be due to settings that block web add-ins from starting.

How to fix this

Open Microsoft Word.
Go to File → Options → Trust Center → Trust Center Settings.
Select the Trusted Add-in Catalogs tab.
Could not display content
Make sure both checkboxes are unchecked in this section.
Could not display content
Click OK to save your settings.
Restart Microsoft Word.

After restarting, the LanguageTool add-in should appear in the Home tab.

💡 Note: Depending on your version of Word, the add-in icon might be hidden behind the three dots icon (“...”).
